Lookdiary: Tell us more about yourself (as a person)?
Cecelia from Sooco: I’m Cecelia, the owner of SOOCO. As a fellow city gal, I know how hectic life can be with work stress and no time for exercise. That’s why I created SOOCO, a place where you can relax your mind, tone your body, and boost your confidence in the most fun and fabulous way possible!
Lookdiary: What makes Sooco special?

Lookdiary: Your best memory with a customer?
Cecelia: One of my most memorable experiences as a spa owner was when a customer came in for a special occasion. She was celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary with her husband and wanted to do something special for herself. She had never been to a spa before and was a little nervous, but also excited to try something new.
I remember taking extra care to make her feel comfortable and explaining each step of the treatment to her. She opted for a full day of pampering, which included a massage and facial. Throughout the day, I could see her relaxation levels increasing and her stress melting away.
At the end of her visit, she was beaming with joy and gratitude. She told me that it was the best day she had spent in years and that she felt so special and pampered. It was a beautiful moment that reminded me why I love what I do and why I’m passionate about providing relaxing and rejuvenating experiences for my customers.
Lookdiary: What is the quality of service standards that you require from your staff?
Cecelia: I expect nothing but the best from my therapists. They have to be like ninjas, but instead of martial arts, they need to have mad spa skills. They should be certified masters of relaxation, with the ability to perform treatments that soothe even the most stressed-out customers. But it’s not just about technical know-how. Our therapists have to be great communicators too, with the ability to put customers at ease and explain treatments in a way that’s easy to understand. And let’s not forget about professionalism – they need to be reliable, maintain a clean workspace, and always follow spa policies. With top-notch service from our spa-tacular therapists, our customers leave feeling like they just spent a day in paradise. And that’s what it’s all about – providing a fun, relaxing experience that leaves our customers feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.
Lookdiary: What cosmetic brand are you using for the different treatments and why?
Cecelia: We take great pride in offering our own branded products that are made in Japan for our treatments. Our products are carefully crafted with natural ingredients to ensure that they are gentle and effective on the skin.
We have a wide range of products available, including massage oils, shower gels, facial serums, and more, each with its unique blend of ingredients and fragrances. Our massage oils, for example, come in different flavours like lavender and Geranium, which provide a relaxing and invigorating experience for our customers.
One of the benefits of using our own branded products is that we have complete control over the formulations, ensuring that they are of the highest quality. Our customers appreciate the unique fragrances and the way the products leave their skin feeling soft and nourished. Overall, we are proud to offer our own branded products for our treatments, providing a high-quality and enjoyable experience for our customers.
Lookdiary: What changed in the spa industry since you started?
Cecelia: I’ve witnessed significant changes in the industry since I first started. Customers are now seeking natural and organic treatments that promote overall well-being, and there’s a renewed interest in traditional spa treatments like facials and massages. Additionally, customers are looking for luxurious spa experiences but often find that hotel spas are too expensive. To address this need, we’ve imported exclusive Japanese and Italian Jacuzzis that are not commonly found in Hong Kong. By offering these high-quality spa amenities at fair prices, we can provide our customers with a luxurious and relaxing experience without breaking the bank. Finally, the industry has become more inclusive, with a focus on providing services that cater to a diverse range of customers. These changes have brought a renewed emphasis on self-care, relaxation, and inclusivity to the spa industry, making it an exciting and dynamic field to be a part of.
Lookdiary: Any future plans in the pipeline for Sooco Spa?
Chloe: I’m always looking for ways to improve and grow my establishment. Here are some future plans that are currently in the pipeline:
Expansion: We’re considering expanding our facilities to accommodate more customers and offer additional services. This could include adding more treatment rooms, a larger relaxation area, or even a new location.
Partnerships: We’re looking to partner with other businesses in the spa industry to offer our customers more comprehensive services. This could include collaborating with fitness studios or nutritionists to provide a holistic approach to wellness. We are also partnering with different luxury F&B and skincare brands for thematic collaborations.
